Online education training outfit,Teach Ours has advocated for an improved online education system across Nigeria.
This advocacy was made during the certification and award presentation to 101 participants for the free accredited online courses that lasted fourteen days at Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria.
A pointer was made that aside poverty, distraction is one of the challenges of online education system despite the flexibility of study, thus the need for government and corporate organisations to invest hugely in the system in order to make it more interesting for the people.
Teach ours group organised this event to honour and project the essence of online courses in Nigeria because Online courses teach students how to manage their time better since the student bears the responsibility of engaging with the course instead of simply showing up to class on an assigned day and time. As a result, students not only gain knowledge from the coursework, but they also sharpen their time management skills.
They called on the governments at all level to contribute its quota by providing needed tools that would aid smooth running of online courses, especially power supply and stable internet connection.
The convener, TIMI OROMONI believe online education system is the way to go with a declaration that in the next ten years the system would have become more acceptable globally. She said Nigerians are generally talented and are always looking for any available opportunity to improve on their skills and knowledge and online education system is veritable platform that carries all the conveniences for people to achieve their set goals in any career.
People who enrolled and completed the courses were hosted at Workstation Victoria Island, where they were awarded their certificates of achievements. All participants were given their certificates, a pocket modem with 40GB data and 20,000 Naira cash prize. 4 selected participants were given an additional 50,000 Naira, and 3 selected participants were each given an HP laptop.
It was truly an amazing event where people not only had the opportunity to study for free, they were also awarded an accredited certificate and different prizes for studying.
